How to Check Kuwait Civil ID Status Online: Official PACI Guide

Waiting for your Kuwait Civil ID card? Follow these mobile steps to check the official PACI card status, understand each result, and see whether your physical card is ready for collection.

If you have applied for a new or renewed Kuwait Civil ID, you do not
need to visit PACI just to ask whether the physical card is ready. You
can check the card status on your phone through the official Public
Authority for Civil Information (PACI) website.

This guide uses real mobile screenshots from the PACI process. All
Civil ID numbers are hidden. The final card-ready
result is a clearly labelled recreated example because a real
ready-result screenshot was not available.

Quick answer: Open PACI’s official Card Status
service, enter your Civil ID number or envelope number, and press
Submit. If the card is ready, PACI may show the
collection location and machine number.

Online services on 12 August 2026.
Government pages and button
labels can change, so follow any updated instructions displayed on the
official website.

Before You Start

Prepare either:

  • Your Civil ID number; or
  • The envelope number connected to the application.

If you recently arrived in Kuwait and do not know your Civil ID
number, first read How
to Find Your Kuwait Civil ID Number Using the MOI Number
.

Do not share your Civil ID number in comments, public groups, or
screenshots. One wrong digit can also produce an error or the wrong
result.

How to
Check Kuwait Civil ID Card Status on Your Phone

Step 1: Open
Chrome or another trusted browser

Open Chrome, Safari, or another browser on your phone.

Step 2: Search for PACI

Type PACI in Google. You can also open the official
PACI Card Status page
directly.

Search for PACI or use the direct official service link in this guide.

Step 3: Open the
official government result

Choose the PACI Services result and check the address before entering
any information. The official service address uses
services.paci.gov.kw. Do not enter your Civil ID on an
unknown website or advertisement.

Check that the result uses the official PACI government domain.

Step 4: Select Card Status

On the PACI Services page, find and select Card
Status
. Do not choose Card Validity,
Card Renewal, or MOI to Civil Number
because those services answer different questions.

Select Card Status, not Card Validity or Card Renewal.

Step 5: Enter the
Civil ID or envelope number

The form shows Civil ID or Envelope No. Enter the
correct number without extra spaces, then press
Submit.

PACI will display the result below the form. Read the full message
because it may show that the card is ready, still being processed,
waiting for renewal, or that the inquiry could not be completed.

How to Understand the PACI
Result

Result 1:
Validation Failure — Not a Valid Civil Number

This normally means the number was entered incorrectly or is not
available in the PACI record used by this service. Check every digit,
confirm that you entered a Civil ID or envelope number, and submit
again.

PACI validation failure message for a number that is not a valid Civil ID.
Check every digit if PACI says the Civil ID number is not valid.

Result 2: Civil
ID card is still being processed

This means the physical card is not ready for collection yet. Wait
and check the official service again later. Repeatedly pressing Submit
will not make card production faster.

If PACI has already created your Civil ID record, Kuwait Mobile ID
registration may also become available before you collect the physical
card, but this message alone does not guarantee approval. SOAKJAM will
explain the Kuwait Mobile ID setup separately in Article 3.

PACI message stating that the Civil ID card is still being processed.
This result means the physical Civil ID card is not ready for collection yet.

Result
3: The existing card will expire soon and no renewal request is
found

This message does not mean that a new card is ready. PACI found an
existing card that will expire soon, but it has not yet found a renewal
request. If the renewal was submitted only a few days ago, check again
later. Otherwise, complete the required renewal through PACI’s official
service.

If renewal was submitted recently, check again later; otherwise complete the renewal.

Result 4:
PACI is unable to respond to the request

Follow the instruction shown in your own result. The sample message
asks the user to follow up at PACI headquarters in South Surrah. Your
message may be different, so do not travel based only on this
screenshot.

PACI message saying it cannot respond to the request and showing a follow-up instruction.
Follow the instruction in your own PACI result because the required office may differ.

Result 5: Your Civil ID
card is ready

When the physical card is ready, PACI may show the collection
location and machine number. Write down the details from your own result
and follow those instructions.

Card
Status, Card Validity and Renewal Are Different

PACI service Use it when you need to know Common information requested
Card Status Whether the physical card is being processed or ready for
collection
Civil ID number or envelope number
Card Validity Whether an existing Civil ID card is currently valid Card serial number
Card Renewal and Payment Whether renewal or card fees need attention and to complete the
relevant process
Civil ID and other details requested by PACI
MOI to Civil Number Which Civil ID number matches an MOI or unified number MOI or unified number

For example, you may complete a renewal but still wait for the new
physical card. In that case, use Card Status. If you do
not yet know your Civil ID number, use MOI to Civil
Number
first.

What to Do If the Card Is
Delayed

  1. Check that the Civil ID or envelope number is correct.
  2. Confirm that the renewal and required fee payment were
    completed.
  3. Check whether PACI requested a photo, address, or document
    update.
  4. Wait and check again because the online record and card production
may not update at exactly the same time.
  5. If the message continues or PACI tells you to visit, use the
official contact information on the PACI website. PACI lists
    1889988 on its service pages.

Your employer, representative, or typing centre may help with the
application, but verify the final card status through PACI’s official
system.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I check the
card status without signing in?

Yes. The PACI Card Status page provides a direct inquiry field and
normally does not require an account for this check.

Can I
use an envelope number instead of a Civil ID number?

Yes. The official PACI form is labelled Civil ID or Envelope
No
.

Does “card ready”
mean my residency is valid?

Not necessarily. Card readiness refers to the physical Civil ID card.
PACI provides a separate Card Validity inquiry, while residency matters
are handled through the relevant government services.

Where can I see the
collection location?

When the card is ready, the result may show its machine number and
collection location. Follow the details displayed for your own
record.

Can
I create Kuwait Mobile ID while the physical card is processing?

It may be possible once PACI has created the Civil ID record, even if
the physical card is not ready. Eligibility can vary, so follow the
Kuwait Mobile ID app’s own instructions. Article 3 will explain the
setup step by step.

Is card status the same as
renewal?

No. Renewal is the process of updating or reissuing a card. Card
status tells you about the progress or readiness of the physical card
after the relevant application steps.

Final Reminder

Use PACI’s official Card Status service to check
whether your physical Kuwait Civil ID is ready. Enter the correct Civil
ID or envelope number, read the complete result, keep your personal
information private, and follow the location and machine details shown
for your own card.
