Meet Ansika, she was the college topper of Kathmandu, Principal Sir admired her degree accolades. He called her in front of the stadium during the farewell program.
All saw her in a unique way. She had a big rounded spectacle attached near the bridge of the nose and a very messy curly hair, and she had a lip scar near her face which unclears her voice to some extent. She in a shy way took her token of appreciation and went to her home to show in front of her parents. She was an absolutely reserved and open hearted girl. Nobody had ever comprehended her behavior because she had a dual personality. Sometimes she dissolves into the world of books and the very next she started using her poetry photography in cell phones. She was an absolute whacko until and unless she encountered this man called Arjun.
Ansika had seen lots of divorcees, heartbreaks and tragedies and she had started developing the hatred for guys and tried to remain far from all the nosy guys. She was never accumulated in front of guys and their heavy proposals and she thought of her own lip scar face. Still she never minded into that beauty business which guys used to speak for, the perfect size figure, the moon face bla bla…
And to her tact she had brother zoned the maximum guys on her Facebook, until and unless Arjun came into her life. So, who is this man, Arjun….
One day on October night, Ansika was updating her achievement. Simultaneously, Arjun dropped Hi and started asking whereabouts of her. Ansika felt strange seeing his message, like hi and an abrupt message of an address. She used to see the strangers message marking as an unread option. But she dared to visit Arjun timeline for the first time with curiosity. His introduction was,
“Hello I am Arjun, living in Rajasthan, India. I had pursued my engineering from Rajasthan. I am a bookworm, and a traveler. I am a director, and a screenplay writer. I was born in January. My tagline is life is too short to update Facebook bio.”
And his profile pic was,
A darkest serious figure with a long beard and tightly made ponytail hair.
And his timeline was full of laughing memes.
Her mind started chattering,” What a serious contradiction serious face sharing a laughing meme.” Is he a sage or what? Long beard and hair that’s interesting though but he is from Rajasthan, a place where there is a rich culture with a long veil for women. What is he?
She wanted to unravel that mystery with a guy. Why did he inbox her, any reason, any work purpose? She finally dropped Hi and Nepal. That’s it, too weird conversation that she ever had.
The very next day he messaged thanks and shared with her that she is his inspiration and sending her picture attached as cell wallpaper.
Oh-oh her reaction was jaw dropping and don’t know why she felt like she needed to have a life partner like him. She was shocked seeing her own hatred feelings for guys settling down to some extent.
She was elated but still confused why a stranger is doing this and she asked him to hide her jolly expression and ask if he mind telling her why she is kept in his wallpaper. And the answer of Arjun was,
I like you.
Now, she felt awkward. Like how can Arjun like her through Facebook? Neither they had chatted a while, her profile pic was always hidden. How love happens through a virtual site. Obviously, she concluded he is making her as time passes nothing more that.
In a mocking way she said thanks and log out her Facebook. It’s not happening she jerked her off in her bed and slept?
She opened her Facebook the very morning because of that time pass illusion. She opened her Facebook and to her surprise he said, “Thanks for appreciating me. I tried to read your face but I cannot get any words describing you. You are my inspiration and I am working for you to meet you. Happy Diwali (tihar).”
Now to her shock she had neither planned to meet him nor to face him. She felt so occupied with other tragedy so she gave him a long lecture. How two day single line messages can make him like her and how he dared to see her as a beautiful being because all had mocked her beauty and she compensated beauty through her academic intelligence. Nothing more than that!
Her negative conditioning of beauty never lets her realize that she can be loved by someone particularly, the wholeness and zeroness of her.
Arjun patiently replied to her inquisitiveness,” To love someone’s soul is the most difficult part Ansika and I do love yours. I had seen the maximum numbers of people playing the games of girlfriend and boyfriend. But we have matured our level a much higher. I had seen a mother in you and I had seen the spark in you. Just give me the time and energy you will feel.
And you know your every post, photography signifies the intelligence of yours cracking the high definition of love. You are a kind soul and a writer and I just believe that that your soul is that whom I paid respect too.
Ansika felt that she was on seventh sea feeling his message with the extreme level of ecstasy. But she didn’t let herself open up. She is a girly girl. She was still insecure and afraid to give her soul to that man.
And what if her scarred face became torture to his family? And he is in India? Plus men are too sensitive in listening to others and wives are shown as a prestige that was her dealing point as she had seen many incidents.
Will she approve his proposal? Or will she cave behind her feelings showing a fake smile that she is okay. Only destiny and miracle can fortify what is written on their forehead?
